About Us

Located in scenic Steuben county, our town has a long and interesting history.  Known as "Enterprise", in the late 1830's, the area were the town is located was sold and the name was changed to Hamilton.

Although we have always remained a small town, historically our population explodes in the summer months due to the appeal of our wonderful lake.

Hamilton Lake covers over 800 acres with a depth of over 90'. Downtown Hamilton is located along the south shore of the Lake, offering many restaurants, merchants and professional services.

Please see our Business guide for a better look at what Hamilton has to offer. Hamilton is a very family oriented community.  Most of our organization's and club events center around the family and all age groups.

Hamilton is a town located on the border of Steuben County, Indiana and DeKalb County, Indiana. The population was 1,233 at the 2000 census.
